CCI 250 Large Rifle Magnum Primers Overview
The CCI 250 Magnum Rifle primers provide the extra heat needed to ensure reliable, consistent ignition. The primers produce a 20 percent hotter flame to light propellants in the toughest conditions, yet are as sensitive as all CCI® primers.
- Provide extra heat and ignition power
- 20 percent hotter flame-to-light propellants in the toughest hunting conditions
- No loss in sensitivity
- Hotter flame: It has a 23% hotter flame than standard primers.Â
- Increased flame duration: Has a longer flame duration than standard primers.Â
- Improved sensitivity: cci magnum large rifle primers are more sensitive than standard primers, making them better for large-capacity cases.Â
- Non-corrosive and non-mercuric: made with non-corrosive and non-mercuric initiator mixes.Â
- Compatible with loading equipment:Â compatible with automated and progressive loading equipment.Â
- CCI 250 primers are used to ignite propellants in large rifle ammunition.Â
- They are used to ensure consistent ignition, which leads to more predictable trajectories and consistent bullet velocities.Â
- CCI 250 primer is designed to reduce the chances of misfires.

I load for a 270 winchester. Actually several over the years. When I first started I was not satisfied. A friend advised me to use magnum primers. I was already using CCI and switched to the magnum 250s and have been happy. One half inch or smaller group happy.

I have used CCI Mag rifle primers since 1980. I load for a number of hunting rifles and use this primer in all the magnums from my 7mm to my 470NE. I load approximately 1000 rounds per year and I have NEVER had one failure with this primer brand. NOT ONE.
Tyler From Abilene, TX. –
I’ve used these primers, with Hodgdon H414 powder, to load thousands of rounds for my .30-06 and my .300 WSM. I have never had a failure of any kind and both rifles shoot my loads within a minute of angle. I’ve tried another brand of primers and they did not seem to be as uniform in diameter as the CCI primers.
